Meet the urban musician who imitates Kurt Cobain with his Son

Imagen
  -  Meet The Urban Musician Who Imitates Kurt Cobain (NIRVANA) At  Our Facebook website recently published a rather curious note (originally broadcast on the website pijamasurf.com) about a Russian urban musician who spends his days imitating the late NIRVANA vocalist with his daughter on drums, Kurt Cobain, at immediate vicinity of a Moscow square. The subject, named Nikolai Petrovsky, has become famous in his country due to his ability to imitate the voice and way of singing of the late Cobain and has even appeared on some local TV shows.  -  On YouTube you can get several videos of Petrovsky singing different NIRVANA songs and also showing his guitar skills. In some cases the resemblance is more than astonishing, such as in the following video where he performs the song "About a girl". Enjoy it.  He also has a YouTube channel where he uploads the records with his band "Best Friends band", on Instagram: @Best_Friends_Band

-  For   Dave Grohl , the process of healing after   Kurt Cobain 's death doesn't just affect him and others who surrounded the late   Nirvana   frontman. Instead, the restoration exists on a generational continuum since Grohl, the Nirvana drummer who now leads   Foo Fighters , has to explain the death to his children. After all, his three kids — the budding musician Violet Grohl, age 15, among them — are all now getting to be the age where they can both appreciate their dad's former band and comprehend the consequences that ultimately led to Cobain's death by suicide in 1994. In fact, according to Louder in a quote from Monday (Sept. 20), Dave mentions talking to his children about Cobain's death in  When Nirvana Came to Britain , a new documentary film about the act and their U.K. fandom. "I'm still processing Kurt's death," the Foo Fighter says at one point in the doc, "because I have to explain it to my kids, wh...

‘Soaked In Bleach’ questions death of Kurt Cobain: A Documentary

Imagen
-  If you look at just the surface of the case, suicide seems realistic –– he was a drug addicted, angsty singer whose own wife said he was suicidal –– but over the years, (starting in 1994 when he was found dead) there has been a ton of speculation that the famous singer was in fact murdered. Cobain had a huge influence over Generation X, and when he died, fans started killing themselves in his honor. To date, there have been 68 known copycat suicides as a result of the possible misruling that he killed himself. Soaked In Bleach  is a documentary directed by Benjamin Statler that aims to finally uncover the truth behind the problem-ridden investigation of Cobain’s death. Through interviews, taped conversations and dramatizations, the story is unfolded. Kurt Goes Missing In 1994, Courtney Love hired private investigator Tom Grant to find her husband who she claimed was missing. From Grant’s first conversation with Love, he saw red flags, so he made sure to heavily docum...

Here's the Reason Kurt Cobain Often Decided to Wear Dresses and Skirts

Imagen
(Image) -  On April 10, Kid Cudi made the internet collectively cheer when he wore a dress on SNL. The singer wore a beautiful white floral dress during his "Sad People" performance, and many believe it was to honor the late Kurt Cobain, who died at age 27 almost exactly 27 years ago (Kurt died by suicide on April 5, 1994). Why exactly? Well, Kurt was known for wearing dresses back in the '90s. Why did Kurt Cobain wear a dress? Kurt Cobain used fashion to defy gender boundaries. He wore dresses and skirts often, and once stated that he liked florals because "there’s nothing more comfortable than a cosy flower pattern.” There's no specific reason why Kurt donned dresses other than to communicate the idea that he believed in gender fluidity and didn't abide by any fashion rules. In fact, most of his clothes came from thrift stores, and he reportedly borrowed dresses from Nirvana's publicist.  It was written that Kurt was the exact opposite of a ...

The Nirvana song making fun of Aerosmith and Led Zeppelin

Imagen
(Image) -  Nirvana   weren’t exactly architects. They were more like wrecking balls, blasting holes in the overproduced and overwrought sound of the 1970s and ’80s rock music. With a power trio set up, simple chords, and guitar solos that were either a copy of the central melody or complete noise, the last thing that Kurt Cobain ever wanted to do was sound larger than life. That’s somewhat ironic, considering how that’s the sound that eventually came to define them on their sophomore album  Nevermind . But even though Cobain’s multitracked vocals and Dave Grohl’s stadium-ready drum sound were tricks used by the bands that Cobain hated, Nirvana were still clearly working in a different idiom. Nobody would have mistaken Nirvana for Aerosmith or Led Zeppelin. Not that Cobain didn’t like those bands, it has to be said. He just didn’t want to sound like them. For Cobain, and by extension Grohl and Krist Novoselic, the aim was to match their immediate predecessors and ...
