Kurt Cobain's hidden message in the heart shaped box video

(Image) - What’s the Meaning of Heart Shaped Box Video by Kurt Cobain What is the meaning of the “Heart Shaped Box” Video by Nirvana? This post goes second by second through the video and provides a likely meaning based on the lyrics, imagery, and Kurt Cobain’s history: Nirvana’s “Heart Shaped Box” music video was visually created by singer Kurt Corbain and directed by Anton Corbijn (director of videos for Depeche Mode’s “Enjoy the Silence” (1990) and U2’s “One – version 1” 1991). Kurt drew out images for the video and would fax them to Anton Corbijn. Anton said that the video was “15% mine” and 85% Cobain’s. 1- The video begins and ends with the band members in a hospital setting watching an old man lying in a bed over a black Latin cross on the floor and receiving a morphine IV drip. 2- Suddenly the old man wearing a Santa hat is in a field of poppies – signifying the morphine which the old man is receiving through the IV drip: The old man climbs onto a cross surrounded wi

The two grunge icons have been working on new music together in a Seattle studio The 'Seattle scene' of the late '80s and early '90s was no stranger to cross-pollination between bands, and it's a trend that doesn't appear to be slowing just yet. Pearl Jam (and former Soundgarden) drummer Matt Cameron recently shared a photo via his Instagram account, confirming that he’s working with Nirvana bassist, Krist Novoselic. It was taken at Seattle’s Avast! Studio, which was founded by Soundgarden’s live engineer, Stuart Hallerman. The studio has operated in two locations since it started with bands including Soundgarden, Band of Horses, Deathcab For Cutie and many more choosing to record there.  The photo shows Novoselic in a recording booth, but rather than his iconic Gibson Ripper or RD bass, Novoselic is playing a Gibson Hummingbird 6-string acoustic. Soundgarden and Pearl Jam’s Matt Cameron recently took to his Instagram account and shared a video clip of Nirva

Dave Grohl: What I Thought the Day After Kurt Cobain Killed Himself

Imagen
  -  "I still feel that way, I never wanna die," Foo Fighters frontman says. "When Kurt died, I remember the next day and thinking, 'I still get to live. So I'm going to live every day like it's my last one. Even if it's the worst day, I'm going to try to appreciate it.' "I still feel that way, I never wanna die. I honestly feel like if I get to do this, and I've got these beautiful kids, as long as I can do this, and do this, I'm all good." Back in September 2017 , Dave talked about the impact Kurt's suicide had on him back in the day, telling Hot Press: -  "The Nirvana experience was such a whirlwind. It all happened so quickly - exploded without any warning, and then it just disappeared. Life had changed so much, it was almost like you had to find something to hold onto so that you didn't get swept away. "Once it was over, I couldn't imagine stepping on stage or sitting down at a drum stool and p

Mia Khalifa mourned the death of Chris Cornell: I hope the same thing doesn't happen with Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam.

(Image) - Mia Khalifa was also very upset by the sudden death of Chris Cornell, lead singer of Soundgarden and Audioslave, who at 52 was found dead at the MGM Grand Detroit hotel.  The first investigations assure that the death of one of the grunge icons would have been by suicide, just as it happened with the leader of Nirvana, Kurt Cobain. The last great exponent of that musical genre is Eddie Vedder, from the band Pearl Jam, and many fans fear for his departure.  -  And the NBA sports journalist, Mia Khalifa, has not been the exception, since on her social networks she decided to publish a video in which she lights a candle inside a container where the face of Eddie Vedder can be seen. In the background of the video, you can also hear the song "Hunger Strike" ("Huelga de Hambre") by Temple of The Dog, a group that was made up, precisely, by Chris Cornell and Eddie Vedder. Many did not know how you like Mia Khalifa who a few days ago lamented the elimin

Courtney Love issues apology after verbal assault on Dave Grohl and Trent Reznor, promises ‘I will do better’

  -  ‘I am truly sorry for those I’ve hurt’ says Courtney Love after social media broadsides against Foo Fighters and NIN leaders Courtney Love has apologised for her recent “insensitive” social media attacks on Dave Grohl and Trent Reznor, and says “I need to learn to be more responsible with my words.” On June 13, Love labelled the pair “clowns“ and “Jack asses” in a post on Instagram and accused both men of a “soul shattering level of personal and cultural abuse“ against her since the death of her husband Kurt Cobain in 1994. In one post, since deleted from her account, Love wrote “I’ve had enough of this 💩 from these clowns leaning into my being scapegoated for breathing, for my husband's death, for my 'overt' sexuality, because I'm an addict, etc, and a WOMAN, for over 27 years.” Love singled out Grohl for abuse over what was presumably yet another twist in the long-running saga about Nirvana royalties, claiming that the Foo Fighters’ frontman, “continues to enr

- The Business Post is reporting that Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love’s daughter Frances Bean Cobain has signed a two-album deal with Columbia Records, and her first album is due soon.  Cobain has been teasing new song ideas all years, most famously a song that appeared to be about her late father that she posted a clip of on April 5th, the 24th anniversary of his death by suicide in 1994. Frances Bean Cobain discussed going to Ireland to attend the Growing Up Kurt Cobain premiere event in a new Independent interview. “I think that it was important for all of us three to come to Ireland.  - This is where our roots are. It’s a very healing place,” she says. “I’ve been here before and it was super healing for me as a child and I wanted to come and be a part of this experience with them. I don’t know if we could recreate the energy of this specific trip again. The reason that this is so healing is because it’s in Ireland. That’s a huge component of it I believe.”  Kurt believed his

NIRVANA: THE FIGHT of KURT COBAIN and KRIST NOVOSELIC

-  On Tuesday March 29, 1994 booked a flight for Kurt Cobain to Los Angeles where the rehabilitation center was and Krist Novoselic agreed to take him to the airport, Kurt arrived at Krist's house (Seattle) without being convinced of wanting to go to rehabilitation. During the trip in car Kurt began to cry, to shout and to      curse, arriving at the interstate Kurt made the feint to open the door to jump of the car in movement. Krist reacted quickly and managed to hold Cobain, surprised at what he was about to do, after a few minutes they arrived at the airport, Kurt's attitude did not improve and Krist was forced to wear it around his neck, arriving at the main terminal Kurt gave him a punch in Krist's face and he tried to escape. -  Krist grabbed him and they had a hand-to-hand fight with punching and struggling on the floor, in the middle of the airport in front of everyone, Kurt managed to get free and ran out saying "Fuck off!", The last thing Novosel

Nirvana in Ongoing Legal Dispute Over Who Created Band’s Iconic ‘Smiley Face’ Logo

Imagen
(Image) -  A new twist has entered the more than three-year copyright and trademark battle with designer Marc Jacobs over the use of Nirvana’s smiley face logo. Graphic artist Robert Fisher, who worked with the band in the early ’90s, and was also recently involved in the   Nevermind  lawsuit   over the band’s 1994 album cover, claims he coined the iconic logo, not the late Nirvana singer Kurt Cobain. On Jan. 24, Fisher, who worked as an art director at Nirvana’s label DGC/Geffen Records during the time the band was beginning to ascend, claimed that he created the distinct smiley face logo with cross-eyes and a crooked grinned as a T-shirt in 1991 at the band’s request.  Lawyers for Nirvana assert that the band’s company, Nirvana LLC, has full ownership of the image and that it was single-handedly created by Cobain that year and registered for copyright in 1993. Nirvana obtained Copyright Registration No. VA0000564166 from the United States Copyright Office, which they titled “Happ
