- Marilyn Manson is a multifaceted artist who is a singer, songwriter, actor, writer, record producer, and painter. He co-founded the band of the same name in 1989 with Daisy Berkowitz and currently is the band’s lead singer. Moreover, Manson is mostly known for his outrageous stage personality and live performances, as well as his controversial personal life.

Marilyn Manson is no doubt one of the most controversial musical figures in music history. As you may know, there is a rumor about him that claims he removed one of his ribs to easily perform oral sex on himself. Apart from that, Manson’s most stage performances involved some disturbing acts. For instance, he urinated on the audience during a performance, ate a bible on the stage, and cut himself in the middle of a live show.

On the other side, Manson has a troubled relationship history. Most of you probably know that he is struggling with sexual abuse accusations. Many of his former partners accused him of sexual, physical, and psychological abuse which lasted throughout their relationship. As a result, Manson’s current net worth is dropped by more than a half.

Apart from that, Manson also had a tumultuous relationship with Courtney Love. The pair knew each other for a long time, and they were involved in some chaotic incidents in the past. Let’s delve into the details of their love and hate relationship.

WHAT HAPPENED BETWEEN COURTNEY LOVE AND MARILYN MANSON?

Back in 1999, Courtney Love’s band Hole toured with Marilyn Manson for The Beautiful Monsters Tour. There were thirty-seven dates booked, but only nine of them were completed. Both bands were enjoying commercial success with their latest albums at those times, but apparently, they weren’t a good match.

Before the tour kicked off, Manson claimed that Hole was the last band he would like to tour with. Both Manson and Love had big egos, and everyone was expecting them to clash. The tour eventually kicked off on February 28, 1999, at the Spokane Arena, Washington. There were obvious differences in both Marilyn Manson’s and Hole’s styles, and even their fans at the concert were entirely different from each other.

The bands’ approach to touring was also different. Almost everyone knows Manson’s performances feature disturbing acts, whereas Hole appears more decent in contrast. According to Love, some of their fans weren’t allowed to attend the shows because their parents were scared of Manson. 

During the show, Manson fans shouted that Hole suck while Hole fans claimed Manson was a gross pig. On the second night in Vancouver, Love went on the stage during Manson’s performance and attacked him after his comment about her. Following that, Manson injured his wrist. He also told he’ll make Courtney his sacrificial cow while Love said Manson is a guy with a blue head and a big sign that says ‘Drugs.’

Apart from that, Love and Manson disagreed over the production costs. Manson had a bigger production while Love wanted the 50/50 split of costs between two. Eventually, the debate between the two musicians resulted in Hole leaving the tour and resuming touring with Imperial Teen. After Hole left, Manson continued the tour under the name ‘Rock Is Dead.’

THE CURRENT RELATIONSHIP OF COURTNEY LOVE AND MARILYN MANSON

After a long time since the incident happened, it seems the pair is on good terms despite some passive-aggressive quarrel between the two.

In a 2015 interview by Esquire, Manson commented on his current relationship with Love. He said that they have always been weird with each other as Love slept with almost all of his friends. Moreover, Manson claimed that Love was mad at him as he did not want to sleep with him and was smarter than her. Manson then said he told Courtney that she proved her own point while saying that.

Manson told Esquire about Courtney Love that:

“We never really had a falling out. We’ve always been weird with each other, because she’s slept with pretty much every one of my friends, supposedly. Not me, though. She, one time, told me she was mad at me because I didn’t want to fuck her and I was smarter than her. I said, ‘Well, you kind of proved your own point right there on that one.’ But it was cool.”

The pair also appeared on the ‘Sons Of Anarchy’s final season, but Manson claimed in the same interview that they didn’t work on any scenes together. He said that their only encounter was at the red-carpet premiere.

Manson said:

- “We didn’t work any scenes together, but I saw her on the red carpet. Her dress broke, and I said, ‘You okay? Your pussy didn’t show, did it?’ and she said, ‘No,’ and I went, ‘Thank God! That would’ve been horrible!’ That was the only time I fucked with her. Other than that, I’m cool with Courtney.“

Following the interview, Courtney posted a tweet saying all this time she thought Manson was gay, and she will of course sleep with him.

Courtney Love’s tweet was:

“Oh my God, Marilyn Manson, all this time thought you’re gay. Of course, I’ll fuck you. I’m free Fri from 1:15 to 1:18, it gives us plenty of time 4 a smoke too.”

As for a more recent date, Courtney Love teamed up with Marilyn Manson for his ‘Tattooed In Reverse’ music video in 2018. In the music video, Courtney Love appeared as Marilyn Manson’s nurse. On his Twitter, Marilyn Manson announced this by sharing a short clip from the video and saying he allowed Courtney Love to be his nurse.

“Who allowed Courtney Love to be my nurse? Oh shit… I did. ‘Tattoed In Reverse.'”
